Captain's Duties
Code of Conduct
Team Captains are the liaison between your team and the League.
The captain is responsible for:
- Attending Captains meeting
- Team conduct
- Team roster
- Score sheet for home matches
- Knowledge of league policies and info
- Assigning player matchups on the score sheet
- Team arriving on time and ready to play
- Venue board standards (boards, lights, scoreboard, environment)
- Collaborating with other captains on 3 total tablets for DartConnect
- Timely payment of player dues and venue fees
- Signing and reporting the score sheet
- Accuracy of the score sheet
- Coordinating tablets for matches

General agreements to make the game fun for everyone!
- Show up on time
- Once you start a game, remain in the immediate vicinity until the match is complete. Avoid bathroom breaks, etc during a match.
- Try to keep breaks between sets to a minimum. 5 minutes max is recommended to keep play going.
- Start each math with a “Shoot well” or high five, handshake, etc
- Keep your distance when your opponent is at the Oche line
- Remain quiet during your opponents turn
- Show respect for your opponent
- Stifle your fits and outbursts. They are a detriment and distraction to everyone’s game (Do not throw things, hit things or shout)
- End a match with “Good Game” or high five, handshake, etc
- Wait to throw your darts until your opponent is behind you
- Do not throw your darts at anything except the dartboard
- Play by the rules
- Take personal responsibility for your throw.You threw them – accept the results
- Play your best regardless of the outcome
- Cricket is a game for scoring points; however, excessive pointing just to prolong the game or score marks is poor sportsmanship
- When playing partners, cooperate with your partner and jointly plan your strategies. Treat your partner with respect even if he/she does not play at your level of expertise
- Report poor sportsmanship to the team captain, a tournament official, a board member, or venue owner
- Sanctions
In the even that a member of the GRDL is reported to the GRDL Board for a violation of the Code of Conduct the GRDL Board may take any or all of the following actions…
- Verbal warning
- Written warning
- Suspension from the Grand Rapids Dart League
- Expulsion from the Grand Rapids Dart League
